I am excited to introduce The Living Wall at Promise Ridge, the new
romantic elopement space on my property in the Pocono Mountains. Promise
Ridge is perfect for couples who wish to elope, celebrate an
anniversary or renew their vows in a breathtaking and inspiring natural
setting.

The Living Wall at Promise Ridge overlooks the Appalachian Trail in the Poconos and is situated above McMichael’s Creek in Stroud Township.
You'll need a Pennsylvania-issued marriage license. |
Here’s the story of how the Living Wall at Promise Ridge came to be and what it has become.
In 2014, I commissioned an 8X12 living wall, Matt and Steven who maintain the grounds on my property set about designing and building it over the winter. When spring was just around the corner, they brought all the pieces together and installed the frame for the Living Wall up at Promise Ridge. |
They found an excellent tailor in town to sew the marine-grade canvas for the living wall pouches. |
Then it was time to prepare the pouches for planting. I got these coconut fiber rolls, organic soil and eventually 12 exciting varieties of ferns from Stonewall Garden. |
Elaine from Stonewall Garden, helped to source 100+ ferns for Promise Ridge. |
When it was time to plant, my sister Nikki and sister-in-law Sue came over to help. |
Just planted baby ferns at the start of May 2015. |
I was honored to create a renewal ceremony for my friends Heather, Nathan and their two children, to celebrate their 20th Wedding Anniversary. This was the first ceremony performed at The Living Wall at Promise Ridge--just 3 weeks after planting. |
